The Danish West Indies (Danish: Dansk Vest Indien or De dansk-vestindiske øer) or "Danish Antilles", are a former colony of Denmark in the Caribbean, now known as the U.S. Virgin Islands. Jomfruøerne ("Virgin Islands") was the Danish geographic name for the Virgin Islands.
